Myths vs. Facts of Capstone On-Campus Management
Capstone On-Campus Management provides a comprehensive residential experience for our students and employees. We want to expel the myths and share the facts associated with working in privatized housing. While we cannot speak for other privatized housing companies, we can share our commitment to excellence as managers for non-profit owners and higher education institutions. Fact: Our team cares about the success of their students in academics and wants to see them succeed. We implement in-hall tutoring programs, study groups and promote their accomplishments!
Fact: Many Capstone employees were former residence life employees as RAs, RDs, RHA representative, desk assistants and professional staff.
Fact: Our team listens to our students thru an open door office policy, community meetings and satisfaction surveys.
Fact: We work cooperatively and diligently to make any division between our team and the university seamless. We feel our best compliment is when students and staff do not realize we aren’t university employees. Capstone On-Campus staff is involved in campus meetings, activities and planning.
Fact: Capstone On-Campus is proud to offer domestic partner benefits.
Fact: Many of our employees previously worked for a university and have transitioned back successfully when a great opportunity was available. We’ve also found many employees return to a higher level position after working for Capstone On-Campus.
Fact: Capstone On-Campus employees have a much more varied experience than their campus colleagues because our positions offer experience in the business section (budgeting), residence life, maintenance, conference housing, and custodial, leasing, marketing, collections etc. which are not traditionally part of the campus experience.
Fact: Our staff members are very much involved in professional organizations. We not only attend conferences but also serve on committees (and a few Chairpersons too!). We encourage our employees to explore other organizations outside of higher education which may broader their experiences.
Fact: We recognize strong fiscal management is essential to any successful housing program. However, we also strive to enhance the student academic experience through programming, roommate mediations, judicial/accountability conversations and personal interactions.
Fact: Many of our communities allow students to apply their financial aid to housing. Capstone On-Campus works with the student to identify their financial aid package and how to apply their overage checks.
Fact: Our offices tend to mirror the hours of campus offices and we participate in evening programs, weekend events and emergency response teams.
Fact: Capstone On-Campus provides services for facility management, residence life, summer conferences and parking management, depending on the needs of the campus.
